GENERAL SANTOS CITY --- The Regional Convergence Initiative - Sustainable Rural Development (RCI-SRD) led by the Department of Agriculture XII is holding a workshop here to finalize the formulation of the Convergence Area Development Plan (CADP).
CADP is a comprehensive plan that addresses the management of the watershed and the ecosystem in a holistic and sustainable manner. This will be undertaken through the implementation of interventions and activities by the four core government agencies which include the DA, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform and Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The identified regional convergence pilot area in Region XII is the Allah Valley Watershed which covers a total area of more than 252,000 hectares. Of this total area, more than 102,000 hectares are tagged as part of the protected landscape.
Municipalities included in the Allah Valley Protected Landscape are Surallah, T'boli and Lake Sebu of South Cotabato and the municipality of Bagumbayan of Sultan Kudarat.
