As the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program continues to alleviate poverty in its priority provinces in the country, Indigenous Peoples in New Aklan, Glan shared that SAAD Program has brought changes to their communities.
On a project monitoring conducted by Department of Agriculture 12 and SAAD-Sarangani yesterday, they have witnessed the sustainability of upland rice , corn , poultry and livestock projects in their area.
"Sa tulong po ng SAAD Program, hindi na po kami bumibili ngayon ng mga binhing itatanim. Doon na po kami kumukuha mismo sa aming nahaharvest. Kaya malaking kita at tipid po ito sa aming mga magsasaka." New Aklan Farmers Association President Olipia Dalamaya said.
Meanwhile, the team also visited the TD Farmers and Fishers Association in Small Margus in the said municipality to further discuss the goal of SAAD Program and encourage them to sustain the goat and Muscovy duck projects that they have received this year.
